I found this terracotta bowl on the curbside and decided to save it from being dumped. I wanted to see if I could plant my strawberries in them but it did not have a drainage hole and drilling a hole might break it. Then I had an idea. A bird bath for the front of the house. So all you need is a terracotta bowl, a terracotta flower pot - make sure the bottom of the flower pot fits well with the bottom of the terracotta bowl - I had one laying around so I decided to use it, liquid nails and some pebbles. Owh...and water too. :*)
- Clean the bottom of both terracotta pots with a wet sponge and either dry it in the sun or if you are impatient like me, use a paper towel to wipe it clean.
- Turn the flower pot upside down apply the liquid nail on the bottom of the flower pot. Use it generously because you really want the two pots to stick.
- Wait for about 15 minutes. Then add the pebbles and water.
TADAHHHH simple easy peasy DIY bird bath for under $20.
I added a brick inside because I think I filled the water up too high for the birds to sit inside and take its bath.
This bird bath sits in the front of my house where there are loads of birds flying in and out and in the front of the two main window to the house where my two cats can sit and spy on the birds taking a drink. What do you think?
